کتابالعلل به تبیین مبادی و علل اولیه اشیا میپردازد و از خدا و مراتب علل بحث میکند. مساله این نوشتار جایگاه وجودشناسانه عقل در کتابالعلل و چگونگی تبیین آن است. آیا میتوان جایگاه غایتشناسانه برای کمال و سعادت انسان در کتابالعلل قائل شد؟ عقل از حیث وجودی، نخستین مخلوق و نزدیکترین وجود به علت نخستین است و در مراتب هستی در دومین مرتبه پس از علت نخستین است. فاعلیت وجودشناسانه عقل، از دو طریق «تدبیر و حکم» و «خلق و ایجاد» است. عقل بر اشیا حاکم است و آنها را تدبیر میکند و از حیث فاعلیت شناختشناسانه نیز فاعلیت شناختی آن ایجاد است؛ فعل اندیشیدن همان فعل خلق است. در این نوشتار برآنم که بابهای مربوط به عقل را تبیین و تحلیل کنم.
