زبانِ آگوستین به روایت ویتگنشتاین و گادامر

چکیده
زبان چیست؟ در تاریخ فلسفه غرب پاسخ‌های متفاوتی به این پرسش داده شده است. اما از نگاه ویتگنشتاین و گادامر این پاسخ‌ها به نحو بنیادین به یکدیگر شبیه‌اند و این دو به این رویکرد بنیادین انتقاد می‌کنند. گادامر از تاریخ فلسفه غرب با عنوان تاریخ فراموشی زبان یاد می‌کند. گادامر، آگوستین را استثنایی در تاریخ فلسفه غرب می‌داند؛ زیرا به نظر گادامر، آگوستین با طرح ایده کلمه درونی جایگاه تعیین‌کننده زبان و نسبت محوری زبان با اندیشه را تایید کرده است. اما ویتگنشتاین، آگوستین را نماینده اصلی رویکرد بنیادین فلسفه غرب به زبان معرفی می­کند و انتقادات خود را به این رویکرد بنیادین، با اعتراض به دعاوی آگوستین مطرح می‌کند. در این مقاله این دو تفسیر متفاوت از آگوستین را مرور می­کنم و در باب امکان قرابت بین فلسفه زبانِ آگوستین به روایتِ گادامر، از یک‌سو، با زبان به روایتِ ویتگنشتاین، از سوی دیگر تأمل می­کنم.
